Insect Bite Remedy: Baking Soda and Water

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp of baking soda
  • warm water

Method:

  1. Mix the baking soda with enough water to make a paste. Apply the paste directly on the bite
  2. After 10 minutes rinse it off with water
  3.  Use when bites are itchy, red and inflamed

Why it works

Sodium Bicarbonate is the active ingredient in this paste that helps heal the bug bite.  The carbon compound and sodium chloride in the paste help soothe the bite and disinfect it. This way it relieves the itchiness and redness. It can reduce the swelling as well.
